Situated in the Thar desert, the nomadic people of this region wonder with their animals and sleep in temporal tents outside villages or populated areas. Centuries ago, this area was a significant passage for the camel routes between central Asia and the boarders of India and Pakistan. This young woman is seen walking along a path, once known as the Silk Road. What is most striking about her is the raw strength and self possession she emotes. She will most likely spend her entire life amongst the grains of desert sand, never to witness or be lulled by modernity.
