Elder – Mexico

Elder – Mexico 2017-01-17T14:38:42+00:00

Project Description

Despite the deeply ingrained customs of Roman Catholicism, the ways of life in many of Mexico’s surviving indigenous peoples are still influenced greatly by pre-Hispanic traditions. Varying from colorful costumes, textiles and traditional crafts, to the agricultural calendar and communalist social organization, the original traditions are still valued among the people.
This traditional elder, cloaked in vibrant pink, is seen while walking down one of the old cobblestone streets of San Miguel.
