Gimme That – Thailand

Gimme That – Thailand 2017-01-17T14:38:41+00:00

Project Description

Elephants permeate literature and the visual arts in Thai culture, nearly always portrayed as beneficent and benevolent figures. They also play an economic role and are essential in transporting goods and people. Moreover, elephants logged all of the teak that earned so much of the early foreign exchange that helped to fuel Thailand’s industrialization and modernization.
A friendly elephant quite curious about the contents of the boys’ bowls greeted the surprised novice monks on their morning alms-round.
